About the job

The easee online eye exam is a CE certified Medical Device and we operate in a regulated environment (IEC 62304, IEC 62366, ISO 13485 and ISO 14971 apply). This makes testing and quality assurance critical to the success of the company. We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to drive our software testing best practices, incident and problem resolution process and verification compliance procedures. You will report directly to the Head of Product. Our tech stack consists of VueJS, Python, PHP with Laravel, AWS, and GitLab, test management in Aqua cloud and test automation in Playwright for python. We are actively investing in machine learning computer vision.

These will be your responsibilities:

Work with our compliance manager to combine modern quality approaches with regulatory needs

  • Work with developers to establish a test coverage strategy, defining which parts of the product are covered by which type of test

  • Balance investment in test automation with pragmatism of flexibility

  • End responsible for QA of product releases and regression strategy

  • Owning the problem resolution process, metrics, trends and co-ordinating investigations and liaising with customer support and improve monitoring process with sentry and pingdom

  • Drive testing best practices among the development team

  • Show and explain evidence of our compliant QA approach to auditors

  • Keep up to date with standards and regulations

  • Establish data driven validation for computer vision and hardware influenced features

About you

  • At least 3 years of professional quality assurance experience

  • Proven record of establishing best practice QA in development teams

  • Work closely with technical colleagues and build good relationships with other experts like optometrists

  • Good at absorbing complex information and bringing it back to logical, pragmatic, repeatable processes

  •  A hands-on approach; you'll need to take the lead as well as executing tests, prepared to do the mix of work required to deliver a consistent result

  • A sense of ownership and pride in your work, and its impact on the company’s success.

You’ll get bonus points for:

  • Experience with ISO standards and quality management systems

  • Medical device experience or similarly regulated experience.

  • Understanding of basic principles of physics

  • Interest in machine learning validation
